There are many thoughts behind a Skovhuus Knit - how does it fit, what should the pattern look like, what yarn should we use, how durable is it, etc ...
In the past couple of years, we have started to put even more thought behind our knitwear - and here we are thinking in particular of the environment. This has resulted in two new collections, where a extra focus has been placed on our choice of yarn and what these consist of. You can read more about them further down the page...
We have always focused on who produces our knitwear, and like many other fashion companies, we also produce parts of our collections outside Denmark's borders. When we do not knit on our own machines, we use our suppliers who are around Europe - suppliers we have been working with for many years. We have a close relationship with them, which gives us close insights and makes us able to control the quality of our products. For us, it is important that products have a high quality that can withstand everyday use - we want our Skovhuus Knit to bring joy for many years.

We still design and produce knitwear at our own facilities in Denmark, near Herning. Here a large amount of the first-samples are also developed. We sew and fit the styles in-house. As said, we produce a large amount of the collections in Denmark, and our machines are workin almost all day, all week. We choose to keep the production in Denmark, because it is part of our DNA and we value the insights it gives us, when making new designs.
Furthermore we work closely with a sewing facility in Poland, who we've been working with for generations.
Besides producing knitwear in Denmark, we also work closely together with suppliers located within Europe.

We are very proud of our styles made in organic cotton! All our styles knitted in 100% organic cotton yarns are part of our Organic Cotton by Skovhuus collection. With this collection, you will see our love for styles in bright, happy colours made with a passionate mindset for the environment. In close collaboration with our suppliers and our Danish production- and design team, we created a collection we are very proud of – organic and comfortable styles designed for longevity.
Within the textile industry there are many ways to produce and manufacture fashion. Therefore, there are certifications to help ensure how products are made - each certification can cover different areas of the production or the final product. We are incredibly proud to be able to use certified cotton that ensures the cotton is classified as organic and cultivated in accordance to ecological standards. This ensures better conditions for both humans, animals, and the planet.
Real love is what we feel about our re:loved collection. The yarn used for the styles in the re:loved by Skovhuus collection is made from 100% recycled fibres. This is our way to be conscious about our material choices and we will hopefully continue expand this collection every season.
When new fibres are produced, a lot of resources are used. By recycling fibres from waste production and consumption, we can make something new and beautiful, and save resources.

We know that there is a vast waste from textile production in the fashion industry, and we are very proud to be able to use yarns that are partly made from this waste. Due to this the colours in our final product can vary from batch to batch. Since the yarn is 100% recycled it is very common for colour variations to occur, which highlights the story behind the knitwear. The yarn used in our re: loved collection is certified and we make sure to have documentation for this.
